Long ago spices were exotic, precious, and rare. Like gold, they were so valuable that only the fortunate could get their hands on them. With wild pepper, cardamom, nutmeg, grains of paradise, and no less than 19 others, a gin like this would’ve only been experienced by the lucky few. Awildian has created this elegant London Dry style gin that honours tradition while being state-of-the-art. It begins its journey with a 16 hour maceration process in premium sugarcane alcohol for the majority of the 23 botanicals, including juniper, aniseed, blueberry, chamomile, two citrus varieties and some others that they’ll never tell.
Following an extremely gentle distillation process this gin is married with waters from the Coromandel Ranges, which have the perfect mineral composition for this gin. It is then given at least three weeks to mature before a final reduction in alcohol to its bottling strength of 47% abv.
As with all Awildian gins we refrain from chill-filtering because it only standardises the gin, robbing it of its magic.
