Due to its unique natural advantages and the Mianzhu people's long-standing commitment to perfecting the quality of their spirits, the Mianzhu series of fine wines gained widespread acclaim as early as the Kangxi period (of the Qing Dynasty). It was praised for its "rich aroma, pure white colour, and crystal-clear appearance," becoming a much-talked-about gem of its time. During the Qing Dynasty, Hanlin scholar Li Diaoyuan had a particular fondness for the mellow fragrance of Mianzhu Daqu. In his admiration, he penned a poem praising it: "Having tasted all the famous wines under heaven, I still favour the rich and mellow Mianzhu Daqu.”
